Monarch Glass Studio hosts the SGAA conference Oct. 2 - 6
The Stained Glass Association of America is holding its conference in Kansas City this October and Monarch Glass Studio will be a location providing classes, demonstrations, and more. Check out the link to Register!
Available items for groups to make: Wine glass, ornament, rocks glass, small bowl
The details: -The minimum sized group is 10 and maximum is 25. -The cost is $60 per person. -The time ranges from 2 to 3 hours. -Everyone in the group makes the same item. Colors used can vary to create unique pieces. -Two professional glass blowers are present to help guests create their very own piece. -The pieces are ready for pick up three days after the event. They come in gift bags with each guest's name on it. One person picks up for the entire group. -Payment occurs ten minutes before the event. -Set up of beverages and food can occur by the group leader up to 30 minutes prior. Tables, table-cloths, chairs, and music access are provided. -Guests need to arrive on time. Equipment is not cheap to run. -There is a clean bathroom available. -Glassblowers do accept tips. -Fun should be expected. We've done hundreds of private events and have nothing but rave reviews. To Book: -To book a time, email [email protected] with the number of guests, item the group wants to make, and time desired. -After confirmation of scheduling, an email with information about set up, parking, and other details will be sent out about a week prior to the event time. -The schedule below is kept up to date. Stained Glass Classes!
Have you been wanting to make a stained glass panel, but don't know how? Take a class at Monarch Glass Studio!
Introduction to copper foil stained glass Instructor: Adam Gard November 16th and 17th: $300 Maximum of 6 students (still seats available) This class provides glass, copper foil, solder, and everything else you'll need to make your first stained glass piece.
Introduction to lead panels Instructor: Adam Gard April 19th and 20th: $300 Maximum of 6 students (still seats available) This class will go over using lead channel to create stained glass panels as well as fitting into frames and using bevels to brighten up designs.
Jan Term: A teen class offered through Pembroke Hill
January 6th through 10th, 2025, Monarch Glass Studio's Hotshop will focus on teaching the fundamentals of glassblowing to the next generation. Six teens enrolled through Pembroke Hill School will spend the week with the Monarch hot glass team learning everything from gathering to gaffing.
Specialty Glassblowing Class!
Achieving through Believing: An advanced glassblowing workshop touching all the bases. Instructed by Evan Schauss April 9 - 13, 2025 6 available spots (this is up to date) $850
Evan Schauss will fly to Kansas City to teach at Monarch Glass Studio in April to teach a class encompassing all of what he has learned working as a glass artist in Maui, Hawaii and Seattle, Washington over the past 27 years. Students can expect to learn blown glass sculpting, using a combination of inside sculpture techniques along with hot bit work as well as cane and murini work for use in ornamental vessels. Color cups, snorkel techniques, duro use will be touched upon as well as fundamentals for working larger and longer with the use of proper cold-core punty and proper bubble set ups for blown sculpture. Demonstrations will range from skeleton artwork to ocean creatures and large murini vessels to fun goblets.

Call to Artists - Collaboration Show!
Monarch Glass Studio is hosting a show run by Adams Puryear and Tyler Kimball. This show will pair non glass artists with glass artists to collaborate and create work to be displayed in a month-long exhibit in the Monarch Glass Studio Gallery. To be considered for this opportunity, send an email to [email protected] or [email protected]. The deadline to get involved is November 1st, 2024 and the exhibit is tentatively scheduled for late Spring of 2025. This will be limited to ten collaborative works.
